Sunset Point on Lake LBJ
is currently a privately owned RV resort but this property
has a unique history in the Texas hill country. From the early
1960's until 1993, the property was leased by the United States
government from a private family and Lower Colorado River
Authority (LCRA) for use as a recreation area/retreat for
enlisted and civilian employees of Kelly Air Force Base in
San Antonio. It was known as the Flying K Recreation Area.
From 1993 until just a few years ago, LCRA maintained this
property for a day use area only. In the last couple of years
the land has been privately developed, in conjunction with
LCRA, into a beautiful RV Resort - Sunset Point on Lake LBJ.
